If you are looking for a free tool to help calculate bluff equity and assist you with assigning hand ranges to your opponents, look no further than the Ace Poker Drills Equity Calculator.

This easy-to-use analysis tool is hands-down the best free poker equity we have come across.  It puts PokerStove to shame when that software was still readily available online.  The odds calculator is designed to teach any player in a very simple and clear format how to count outs for purposes of translating that data into what your equity or odds are at the table.

Creating a hand from scratch for analysis is quite simple.  You can select a hand or range of hands your opponent has along with what the board looks like.  Instead of assuming each hand in a range of hands is equally likely to be in your opponent's holdings, you can assign a percentage based on the likelihood you feel he is holding certain cards.  If you are uncertain how to assign ranges, you can choose from several predefined ranges that are broken out by position and, from there, you can see what your perceived opponent's equity is in certain spots.

The software also allows you to understand what percent of the time you need to make your opponent fold to a bluff by entering in the pot size and what your bet is.  This is important to understand since, for example, if you are betting 300 chips into a 600-chip pot, you only need to have your opponent fold 50% of the time for this to be a profitable bluff.

The Equity Calculator is extremely helpful in any post-game analysis, especially considering it can link up to your played hands in your Holdem Manager or PokerTracker database for study purposes.  The software can automatically present your most recent sessions and, when clicking on any session, it brings the most interesting hands with the biggest pots to the forefront.

The calculator will automatically highlight in red any questionable situation you got your chips in for you to review.  From there, you can click on a hand to replay it, which shows stats for yourself and your opponent.  The software can automatically run an equity range on your opponent so you can see how truly questionable your play might have been.

The calculator has been well received by the poker community.  One poster on Two Plus Two commented, "Thanks for the great free calculator.  I really like the idea of the odds and outs trainer too.  I've put in a little time with it this weekend and I can see the benefit of 'drilling' yourself on some of this basic math.  After a little practice, these calculations started becoming quicker to perform.  When I save up some extra cash, I'll be getting the Equity and Pre-Flop trainer as well."

Another Two Plus Two poster agreed with our sentiments about the Ace Poker Drills Equity Calculator being much better than PokerStove: "The Equity Calculator is great. Definitely using this instead of PokerStove."

After checking out the Equity Calculator, you may want to shop other great poker software products made by Ace Poker Drills.  The company has a free Odds and Outs program where you can learn how to calculate your outs and likelihood to improve your hand.  It also offers Equity Training software for $29.99, which fits in nicely with its free calculator.  Lastly, Ace Poker Drills can improve your profitability on the felts with its Pre-Flop Poker Training Software, also priced at $29.99.  If you want the entire suite of software, the package is discounted at $49.99, an almost 17% total savings.  Check it out.
