Jensen Poker Tools announced the release of Double or Nothing (DoN) Indicator, a Heads-Up Display (HUD) for vital DoN tournament stats. The HUD displays a player's position according to stack sizes, remaining players, M, Q, one round's costs in blinds and antes, seconds left in blind levels, and more. These Double or Nothing tournaments are extremely popular at the world's largest poker room, PokerStars, and feature an event where half the players make the money by doubling up. DoN Indicator is on its first release, only supports PokerStars Double or Nothing tournaments, and is currently in a Beta testing phase.
The information provided by DoN Indicator shows up in an HUD overlayed on top of your tournament table:
Position: This tells you what your current standing is in the tournament determined by stack sizes.
Players: Reports the number of remaining players in the tournament.
M: Also known as "Magriel's M" and chip status index, this stat is determined by taking a stack size and dividing it by the cost in antes and blinds for one orbit.
Q: Also known as "Harrington's Q," this number is the ratio between your stack size and the average stack.
Big Blinds: This number is your stack divided by the size of a big blind.
Stack Difference: This stat displays the difference between your stack and the stack of the person on the opposite side of the bubble. More specifically, when you are in positions one through five, it compares you to the stack size of the person in sixth place. When you are in position six (or worse), it compares you to the fifth place player.
Average Stack: Total chips on the table divided by the number of players remaining.
Chips Percentage: This is your chip count compared to the total chip count.
CPR: Cost Per Round, meaning the cost of blinds and antes in one orbit.
Level Time: The number of seconds left in the current blind level and displayed as a bar graph below the stats.
In order for DoN Indicator to be properly set up to work with PokerStars, a short install is required. First, a player needs to set up the "Hero Screen Name," which means that a player simply puts in their own PokerStars screen name in the box. The hand history directory should be set up correctly, but by default, the program will go to the PokerStars directory. The log file and code colors file are entered in by default and players should alter the HUD opacity percentage and structure (turbo or regular) to fit their needs. There is also the ability to change the color of the HUD’s background and players are warned that it will not be visible if all stats use the same font and size.
Currently, DoN Indicator can be downloaded from the Jensen Poker Tools website for free with a 10 time usage restriction. Afterwards, users will have to buy a license to continue using the software. The Small-Stakes Edition can be used for DoN tournaments with a buy-in up to $6 and the All-Stakes Edition has no limitations on buy-in size. The Small-Stakes Edition is available for $20 and the All-Stakes Edition runs $33. An upgrade option of $13 can be purchased for existing Small-Stakes Edition users.
Currently, the developers of the program are taking in suggestions and bug reports via the support forums on the Jensen Poker Tools website. Users of the program can have direct access for a very quick customer support experience as well as a voice in new features being developed for the program.
