Top Shark Ranks Online Poker Players

Top Shark, which presents free online tournament statistics for multi-table tournaments, sit and gos, and heads-up play for all online poker players, now has a “Player Info” tab that allows its users to input personal information and put a face behind the numbers. It's a tool that gives users a snapshot of everyone at a table, specifically their stats and rankings. Top Shark also offers automated graphs that, once posted to any website, continue to track play and adjust without reposting. The software also offers filters that allow you to present data on an opponent or on yourself based on date, buy-in, limit, and other parameters.   

While many customers originally came to Top Shark for free poker rankings, tournament and sit and go histories, and statistical breakdowns, players can now delve deeper into the many exciting personalities that exist online, including their own. Top Shark, which tracks nearly seven million players online across three online poker sites (PokerStars, Full Tilt, and Poker Room), allows online poker players full control over their profile and what information others are privy to.

The “Player Info” tab of Top Shark online poker rankings allows users to edit their real name, location, gender, age, and even permits a “Bio” section to give everyone a little insight into their personal or professional life. On the left-hand side of the page, players can now add a photo to your profile, creating an even closer connection between you and others playing online. Poker Pro Labs wants those in the online poker world to get to know each other past the quirky nicknames and occasional smack talk. Top Shark gives online poker players a chance to become part of a real poker “community” by closing the gap between live and online poker, erasing the ambiguity that is so rampant across the major poker sites.

Poker Pro Labs is currently working on many ways to improve Top Shark in order to make it easier to use and fully-customizable for all online players. Top Shark is adding several new poker networks and sites to its coverage such as Cryptologic, CEREUS, and PartyPoker, so online poker players worldwide will no longer have to play on the largest poker sites in order to take full advantage of the company’s services. Poker Pro Labs has been capturing data for these networks for over six months and are planning a release for early 2009.    

Top Shark is also in the process of adding several new options such as an expanded graphs section that will allow users to customize their graphs using filters and then display exactly what they want others to see. Top Shark is also updating its current rankings system by adding a percentage and a total ranking (for example, 51/152,469). Now users will have several parameters to measure where they stand in comparison to the rest of the online poker world.

Top Shark also offers a HUD called Tournament Shark that allows you to display player statistics in real-time as you play online. This product offers similar information to Top Shark, displaying a player’s current rank, where they have finished in the tournaments that they have played, average buy-in, and number of games played. Tournament Shark also offers filters that allow you to display information based on date and type of game buy-in, among other factors. The two products are linked directly and you can click on any player’s name in Tournament Shark and then immediately be taken to that players Top Shark profile in a separate web page.
