SNG Wizard is a program designed to help you become a lean, mean sit and go grinding machine. Included with the program is an independent chip modeling (ICM) calculator, automation shortcuts and tools, and built-in tutorials and quizzes. SNG Wizard works by importing your hand history text files and running a detailed analysis on them. After that, you will be able to see the hands played back to you to look for mathematical mistakes with this popular SNG tool.
For players who specifically play turbo sit and gos, knowing proper ICM theory and push/fold maneuvers when short-stacked is perhaps the single most important skill to master. That’s where SNG Wizard comes in to teach you the proper theory through hand history reviews, quizzes, and tutorials. Without this essential skill, the learning curve to master even small-stakes sit and gos would be hard to overcome. The program is compatible with popular sites like PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, PartyPoker, UB.com, Bodog, and Titan Poker.
One of the better features is the Future Game Simulation (FGS), which goes beyond traditional ICM theory. Many players agree that the ICM method tends to undervalue medium-stakes games, so it’s usually better for these types of players to play tighter. This is where the FGS option will help take your play when short-stacked a step further and is a popular piece of simulation software.
The development team behind SNG Wizard is committed to having a product that is up to date and integrates new features regularly. Already this year, there have been multiple updates to the program to integrate new features and address bugs that have cropped up.
Release 1.0.1.211 (January 5, 2010)
The default edge change now uses the hero’s stack size instead of the effective stack size. The stack editor was updated and now displays stacks in a grid instead of separate text boxes. Support for the Full Tilt Poker 90-man tournament structure was added.
The following bugs were fixed:
· Fixed an issue finding six-max tournaments
· Fixed Everest Poker issue with parsing hands involving antes
· New game automatic stack adjustment uses the number of starting tables to determine the total number of chips at the final table
· Added the Wizard to the Windows Control Panel list of programs
· Fixed problem with Entraction default tournament structures
Release 1.0.1.214 (January 13, 2010)
A new Bodog hand history parser was added so that players on the USA-friendly poker site can import their hands and the following bugs were fixed:
· The quiz button display problem when using non-English languages was addressed
· There is now a limit to the length of translated strings to prevent them from using too much screen space
Release 1.0.1.216 (January 25, 2010)
There were no new features with this update, but three key bug fixes made up this build:
· Update for the Absolute Poker tournament structures due to changes in blind levels
· Fixed an issue determining six-max tournament types
· Fixed a bug involving the iPoker parser due to a file format change
In addition, the team at SNG Wizard has released some other great features and information about their product. One allows users to translate the Wizard into their native language and a video was added demonstrating how to translate to assist in the process. There is also a new video that shows the process of how to import hand histories for those who have had trouble with this process. Finally, SNG Wizard has improved speed for deep payout structure games.
