We have great news for Mac poker players! The popular tracking and analysis software PokerTracker recently released Version 3.06, which added commercial support for the alternative computing system. For the time being, however, only Intel-powered Mac computers are supported. Text found on the official website of PokerTracker praised the new arrival to the software’s family: “We've released our much anticipated Mac release. Now Mac owners can enjoy the benefits of PT3 without needing to run Windows! Currently, it only runs on Intel based Macs, but we are hoping to expand that in the future.”
PokerTracker also added commercial support for Omaha after a lengthy beta period. Now, fans of the game can enjoy PokerTracker Omaha in the same application as PokerTracker Hold’em, making the new addition a piece of cake to understand. Version 3.06 also added support for a bevy of online poker sites, including the USA-friendly Bodog and Cake Poker. In addition, PokerTracker now features support for Betfair, the Cryptologic Network, WPEX, UB.com and Absolute Poker prior to their migration to the CEREUS Network, and Tribeca. The program now supports these and other rooms sleekly on Mac OS X systems. For those still hung up on Windows-based computers, you’ll need Windows XP or later as well as a Pentium 4 processor with 1 GB of RAM.
Filters for today, this month, and this year were added, as was internet proxy support. PokerTracker is fully compatible with Rush Poker, which recently saw tournaments added on Full Tilt Poker. Rush Poker cash games appeared earlier this year and have completely revolutionized the cash game scene. Now, players can log upwards of 300 hands per hour and quickly advance from table to table after their action in a previous pot had ended. Rush Poker tournaments will be prominently featured during the upcoming Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS).
Performance improvements for autorates were introduced, as were cache improvements. Text found on PokerTracker’s website reveals, “We've also put a lot of work in improving performance in PT3, especially in regards to the cache. The cache now updates automatically while you play, and updates exponentially faster after a manual import (depending on the stage of the cache before import and the number of hands imported).”
Added in Version 3.06 were several measures to fine-tune maintenance of the popular product, including a Setup Wizard and Backup and Restore feature. TableTracker, a built-in table selection tool that is available as an add-on to PokerTracker, now shows you how many tables a player is seated at. Accordingly, it’ll be painfully easy to tell whether an opponent is a hardcore multi-tabling grinder or a small-time fan of the game.
PokerTracker is one of the preeminent tracking tools in the industry and beta testers have spent the past several months refining the Mac client in beta after its debut in December. PokerTracker offers a 60-day free trial if you want to give the Mac and Omaha versions a spin. After that, the program will set you back $89.99 for the Full Edition and $44.99 for the Micro-Stakes Edition.
In lieu of shoveling out cash, you can get the Full Edition through our acclaimed Free Software program here on PokerSoftware.com.
