The world of poker software is so vast and dense that, every once in a while, a worthwhile program falls through the cracks. Such is certainly the case with Poker Crusher, a neat little piece of software that can go a long way in helping you improve your game.
Ever been deep in a tournament and wished you didn’t have to spend so much time and energy looking up your fellow players? Let’s be honest, Official Poker Rankings is a nice tool, but it’s not exactly ideal for focusing on your table, which is what you should be doing near the end of a tournament. Enter Poker Crusher, a program that provides instant stats with little-to-no effort required from the user.
In a nutshell, Poker Crusher allows you to look up a player by simply typing their username into a search field, which can also be narrowed down to specific game stats by using filters. If a player is in the Poker Crusher database, you’ll get a return of six stat categories: key stats, pre-flop, flop, turn, river, and showdowns. Additionally, you can click the hand distribution button to see a graphical representation of the player’s win-rate across various game types. For users who are unfamiliar with the plethora of statistics available, the program allows you to mouse over the stat abbreviations for a full explanation.
For players who find themselves deep in a tournament and unable to divert their attention, Poker Crusher features an Auto Table Lookup tool that will instantly identify all of the players sitting at any of the poker tables you have open. Auto Table Lookup offers the whole suite of stats on each of your opponents and allows you to color-code them in order to help you get a better handle on the flow of your table.
Poker Crusher also includes a Heads-Up Display (HUD) and a Recent Showdowns function. The HUD is a fully customizable and works just as well as more well-known HUD providers like PokerTracker and Holdem Manager. The Recent Showdowns console shows you an opponent’s most recent showdowns, including the player’s hole cards, the board, and action on all streets. This gives you up-to-date and relevant information on exactly how an opponent is playing at any given moment in time.
Despite all of its extremely helpful tools, the most impressive aspect of Poker Crusher is that it supports over 100 online poker sites, including Bodog, Pacific Poker, PartyPoker, and all rooms on the following networks: CEREUS, 888, Cake Poker, Boss Media, iPoker, Merge, Ongame, and Prima. The only downside to Poker Crusher is that it’s actually banned on some of the sites it’s compatible with, so be sure to consult a room’s stance on the software before putting it to use.
With that said, if it’s acceptable for you to use Poker Crusher on any of the sites you regularly play on, then there is really no downside. The more information you have at the poker table, the better off you’re going to be and Poker Crusher definitely has the 4-1-1 on your opponents.
