Behind the Scenes of Tournament Parser, Analyzer, and PokerHub

White Cow, developer of Tournament Parser, Analyzer, and PokerHub, spent a few minutes of his busy day sharing with us thoughts relating to his various software products.

PokerSoftware: What made you decide to get into developing poker software?

White Cow: I am a developer by trade. I got into poker software because I was being staked. I was spending so much time making rails and realized that I could just write some software to automate it.

PokerSoftware: How much time did it take to develop Tournament Parser, Analyzer, and PokerHub?

White Cow: It is an ongoing process. Every time a poker site changes their audit files or the way they do their tournament histories or hand histories, I have changes I make to the software. I can't say I will ever be done developing them. I am also always looking to enhance and give users more features.

PokerSoftware: Is this the main reason you decided to charge a subscription rate instead of a one-time fixed cost for Tournament Parser and Analyzer?

White Cow: Yes. I also like feeling responsible for keeping things running for customers.

PokerSoftware: Can you give an example of a site change that has forced you to have to reconfigure your software?

White Cow: A great example is one that you covered about a year ago. PokerStars had a change in their audit file that caused Tournament Parser to temporarily not work as it was before. Also, when we initially released Tournament Parser, we started with PokerStars only. Since then, we have added many sites including PartyPoker, Full Tilt Poker, and iPoker.

PokerSoftware: Can you provide some examples where you have added functionality based on requests from your customers?

White Cow:  Besides adding some sites, I have made many additions based off the requests of my customers to Tournament Parser. For example, I have added a Web version for Mac poker users. I have also recently added the ability to email your rail directly from Tournament Parser to your backer.

PokerSoftware: Analyzer seems like a powerful tool for those studying their game. Did you work with any poker players on that project to make sure all of the important hand-related filters were available?

White Cow: ILS007 gave me great support for testing and suggestions.

PokerSoftware: I have watched his video on your site and it is very informative. Can you let us know some of the key suggestions he made while you were developing Analyzer?

White Cow: He assisted mostly on what filters would be useful for his students. As he is a successful poker player and poker coach, I valued his input immensely when developing Analyzer.

PokerSoftware: Do you have any new products you are currently working on?

White Cow: I am developing a Tweet-to-screen and picture-to-screen product. It is just a way for poker players to share information about themselves when playing live poker or anything else.

PokerSoftware: Many poker players have complained about a lack of support after purchasing your product. What type of support do you give and what is your response time?

White Cow: I have just implemented automated payments this week. Players should be getting immediate payment updates. My response time is very quick on any issues, recommendations, or comments regarding my software. I am very easily reachable via support@tournamentparser.com and whitepokercow on Skype.
