Full Tilt Poker Expands Jackpot Sit and Gos

If you don't already know, Full Tilt Poker recently introduced Jackpot Sit and Gos to its poker client.  Jackpot Sit and Gos are lottery-style, three-max, hyper-turbo, short-stacked games where, in most cases, it's winner-takes-all.  The catch here is that the prize is determined by a random number generator that can be anywhere from 2X to 2,000X the buy-in.

Most of the time, the prize pool will be only double the buy-in.  The key to these games is to grind them in volume since, over time, they should even out to a normalized payout structure close to 3X.  Basically, you are playing these for the chance at a big payout and luckily when the 2,000 X payout appears, the game isn’t winner takes all, but all three players get a piece of the payout.

Full Tilt also allows the ability to chop these sit and gos similar to any non-satellite sit and go that's available.

Jackpot Sit and Gos have become very popular at Full Tilt Poker, which led the site to add, at the beginning of the month, a new $50 buy-in to the existing buy-ins of $1, $2, $5, and $10.  The $50 buy-in games are currently the biggest lottery-style sit and gos available on any site.

We have already seen a few players hit big with these, with the potential of a $100,000 prize pool in a three-max game.  According to the Full Tilt Poker blog, the biggest jackpot to date to be awarded was to UK's "All4AA".  This player refused to chop right away and waited until it was heads-up to agree to a deal, cutting his potential first place prize from $75,000 to $69,000.  Two other players split the remaining $31,000 in the prize pool.

These hyper-turbo, 500-chip games are also paced to finish very quickly, which makes them perfect to play while on the go.  When Jackpot Sit and Gos were first launched, they were only available in the poker client.  Last month, Full Tilt Poker released them in its Android and iOS mobile apps as well.

Full Tilt Poker is always innovating.  For example, it was the first poker site to introduce fast-fold poker (Rush Poker), Adrenaline Rush Poker, Multi-Entry Tournaments, Re-Entry Tournaments, Matrix Sit and Gos, and On Demand Tournaments.

However, in the case of Jackpot Sit and Gos, Full Tilt is just playing following the leader.  These lottery types of games started a bit more than a year ago at Winamax in the form of Expresso games.  Later, iPoker introduced its fast-fold game, Twister.

Also around the same time Jackpot Sit and Gos were introduced at Full Tilt Poker, sister company PokerStars introduced lottery-style sit and gos called Spin & Go.  Currently, these games are only available on the PokerStars.es client.  We do not know whether there are plans to expand this to other clients as well since there are reports that while these games are popular, they do also attract players that would otherwise be playing cash ring games.
