PokerStars, Full Tilt Officially Merge Player Pools

The long-awaited merger in player liquidity between Full Tilt and PokerStars finally took place this week. While there has been a minimal effect on traffic for players used to playing on PokerStars, those used to playing on Full Tilt should notice not only a huge change in the number of games available, but also a new look to the software lobby.

If you haven't already done so, the next time you try to open up Full Tilt, you will automatically download the newest version of the software that has a completely different look.  If you play on PokerStars, however, this look shouldn't be all that unfamiliar to you, as it is almost identical just with Full Tilt branding.

If you only have an account on Full Tilt, you can still log in using your regular user name and password.  However, if you have an account on both Full Tilt and PokerStars, you should only be able to log in with your PokerStars credentials.

Before we get into the software, all real money and play money balances will be converted to a centralized wallet as well as a credit for any tournament tickets you may have been holding onto.

Also, gone are Full Tilt's points, as any balances you held are now combined with StarsCoin balances. However, if you enjoyed playing the Full Tilt Deal game, this remains in both its normal and high-stakes version.  The only difference here is that you will use StarsCoin to play instead of FTPs.

As already mentioned, the lobby is pretty close PokerStars'.  There are a few differences, but it is more in the labeling than anything else.  For example, instead of using the PokerStars terminology of Zoom Poker and Spin & Go, in the Full Tilt client they are instead using the legacy terminology of Rush Poker and Jackpot Sit & Go.  The difference, though, is purely in the name, as if you open any of the tables in that tab it will be merging with the PokerStars games of a different name.

If you preferred the Full Tilt lobby, you are out of luck, but if you prefer the Full Tilt tables, you should be excited to know that whenever you open a table it is the same as you were used to on Full Tilt, including the cartoon-like avatars.

Some of the other features on the tables utilize what you would be used to on PokerStars including setting up your bet-sliding and hotkeys.
